About me
I have extensive experience in video, film and photography. I'm seeking a position where I can use my editting, color correcting and digitization skills. I am highly organized and detail-oriented, a team collaborator and a strategic problem solver. My background as a photographer gives me strong visual foundation skills and a unique perspective in the editing room. Also my experience in color correction aligns well with digital post-production. I’ve been involved with many different types of projects - from short movies to feature films and documentaries.
I have strong experience managing a film department in a fast-paced New York work environment for two years. My experience also encompasses scanning 8mm, 16mm, 35mm, 65mm and 70mm and IMAX with professional archive scanners.
Additional information:
With more than ten years of experience in film post-production, I have edited and color corrected a wide variety of short, feature, documentary films and television movies and series in Iranian film industry. Before moving to the United States, I studied film in college and I took a course in digital editing and motion graphic in Tehran Institute of Technology which helped me to understand different aspects of the digital film production such as software, video formats, codecs, color sampling and motion graphic. Further studies in photography, gave me the skills to be adept at color correction as well. After I accomplished my education, I started to work as assistant editor for my mentor, famous Iranian filmmaker and editor Bahram Beyzai, and then I assisted the award-winning editor Sepideh Abdolvahab in several feature film and television series. These experiences and my participation in legendary filmmaker, Abbas Kiarostami’s film workshop, helped me to rise to the position of editor. I edited and color corrected many feature and documentary films and television movies and series until 2015 when I moved to the United States. In New York, I had the opportunity to explore my experience in film when I was employed by a film digitization company Dijifi, where I rose to the position of film manager in 7 months. At Dijifi, I handled over 300 projects with personal archives or with museums such as The Intrepid and media outlets such as WNYC. My orientation towards details and thoroughness improved production speed and quality, ultimately increasing profits and customer satisfaction for the company. My skills poised me to freelance with the post-production company Final Frame, who I recently worked with to prepare and scan NASA’s archival 16, 35, 65 and 70mm films of the moon landing for CNN’s recent documentary Apollo 11.
