About me
My professional career started from a love for music. I moved quickly from playing bass guitar in a band to pursuing an audio engineering education. Defying advice from ex-studio owner professors I completed my education and started a small recording studio business and produced about fifty albums of diverse genres. The very last album I recorded and mixed was for my own band which we toured minimally across the east coast and Canada. My goals for performing were to travel and see the world more than anything else. During that time I acted as the record label, recording & mix engineer, tour manager and drum technician. I learned significantly more than I earned but life was good. When that timeline in my life found it's end at the fork in the road I started working at a television station as a live mixer for the live broadcast. Within a short time I found myself learning the in's & out's of a live show as a Technical Director, Stage Manager, Editor and eventually started Directing. All of this led to a phone call from the Vice President of engineering of NASCAR who offered me an opportunity to go the the Daytona 500. I quickly accepted the offer not knowing half of what I was getting into until I found myself in a remote television compound with over 30 production trucks and a few hundred people busily running around with considerably more understanding of what they needed to be doing at that moment than I. Fifteen years later I'm still a freelance Technical Director, Director and Editor for some of that largest names in the media industry.Additional information:
After fifteen of the most incredibly satisfying professional years a person could ask for I'm taking all that experience and a very large smile to the end of an era. I'm clearing the path in front of me to reveal what paths lie aead and where the road signs or lack there of might lead. It's a bit strange for me to approach work with a resume because it's always found it's way into my lap due to a sense of excitement that I feel inside that unfolds into something while following that excitement with like minded people. That's why I'm here and not submitting resumes on Monster.com
