About me
Film-making has always intrigued me. The technicality, the problem solving, the creativity, the people we work with and at the heart of it all - the story. A good story can connect people and generations, moving us to tears or laughter, and from a very young age all these things about filmmaking have interested me. Immediately after watching a film I would go straight to the the special features section of the DVD for the making of documentaries to see how they made it, and the captivating story that even the making of documentary had. I would watch these to deconstruct the film, see its component parts and how it was put together. This and my ability to solve and overcome problems and challenges, as well as telling a great story is what I love about making films, whether fictional, documentary or something else. This love of storytelling and problem solving is mirrored in a hobby of mine - analogue (film) street photography. The challenge presented by having to shoot a camera in full manual mode with little to no assistance from a light meter and remembering the sunny 16 rule in my head, whilst also trying to get a good shot of a moving and ephemeral subject is exciting and good practice for my film making and has also helped improve my cinematography skills.
In all I am a driven individual with a multitude of skills looking to work in the film industry and generally take advantage of opportunities to challenge myself, to problem solve, and be creative.
