Height of the Cold War... a Russian missile controller faces the ultimate dilemma.
Adapted from his own accounts, the film tells the story of a Lieutenant-Colonel in charge of the Soviet nuclear early-warning system, Oko. On the 23rd September, 1983, the system detected five incoming American warheads. Equipped only with the powers of reasonable doubt, he believed the attack to be a malfunction. He was right.
