Dr Qassimlu Street is a love story about tyranny of the tyrants and the punishment of freedom and love, combining reality and fantasy in a surrealistic form of modern day Iran. Dr qassimlu street deals with the struggles for freedom and democracy in an oppressive regime .writer and director Fathy Mirzaeian takes a stylistic approach in bringing the cancer that lurks under the dictatorship to the surface. Produced and filmed in northern Iraqi Kurdistan, the story takes place in the Kurdish city of Sanandaj in Iran.
