On November 19th, 2017, The Hummm (of which Sarah is a founding member) returned to where it all began! Sarah reprised her role of Irina in The Hummm - a weird and wild Three Sisters adaption - at OBERON, the American Repertory Theater's second stage.
The Hummm's creative team are all members of the 2016 MFA class from The A.R.T./Moscow Art Theater School Institute at Harvard University. After graduation, we set out to form a theater collective that would employ the skills we learned during our graduate training in Moscow and Poland. And thus, The Hummm was born. Using the Russian "etudes" and Polish "constructions," we now devise highly physical, vibrant, feminist new work!

In May 2017, Sarah starred in the short Silver, which premiered at The 2017
Dusty Film Festival and went on to win BEST SHORT at European Cinematography Awards.
Set during the Civil War, Silver follows Hannah (Sarah Paton), a young woman who dreams of joining the war effort as a nurse, in her struggle with her ailing mother Ester.

Ester is a medium, who is able to contact the spirit realm. With Hannah's help, she connects clients with their dead relatives, and provides them with the solace of knowing that their loved ones have found peace after suffering on the battlefield. When Hannah gets a message from the beyond that she is needed on the front, her mother does everything she can to stop her. Meanwhile, a young man, an engraver who may also be able to see ghosts, arrives at the house. Against a backdrop of war, death, and the supernatural, Silver tells the story of a mother who wants to hold her daughter close, and a daughter fighting for her place in the world.
Directed by Mikhail Saburov (previous work: Remember Us - Cannes Marche du film 2016) -
During the summer of 2015, Sarah toured around New Jersey as part of STNJ's Next Stage Ensemble. She performed Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (Dir. Ilana Stein) and Leontine in The Triumph of Love (Dir. Alexandru Mihail).
Over the course of the summer, this company performed 51 shows over two months in parks, libraries, summer camps, and senior centers, with the goal of reaching audiences who don't have access to classical theater.
At the same time Sarah also understudied the part of Maria in STNJ's MainStage production of Love's Labors Lost (Dir. Brian Crowe).
