About me
I am a confident, enthusiastic and energetic individual and I strive to reflect my best ability in everything that I do. I work well in a team as well as using my initiative to work independently.I have many interests that are driven by my creative flair, including drawing, designing and make-up artistry. I am extremely fanatical about the Theatre and all aspects of performance. I am passionate about performance and drama and have a keen interest to develop my skills and knowledge in this industry.
I am very ambitious and well driven to succeed, which enhances my motivation to work. I feel that these qualities are incredibly important when working in an environment such as the theatre, as the hours will be long and hard, therefore requiring a dedicated and striving individual.
One of my best qualities is that I am a conscientious and loyal individual and always give 100% to everything that I undertake and won't settle for anything less than my best.
Additional skills:
I am a certified trained Fire Marshall and Emergency First Aider. I have a full UK driving licence and am trained in Manual Handling and Working at Height.
I completed a course to gain skills in basic make-up application in London, which I found very interesting and challenging. This tested by ability to work under pressurised situations and to a specific brief. I furthered my skills in make-up by completing a HNC in Theatrical Media Make-Up and Costume at the University of Worcester.
I volunteered as part of the Swan Theatre Amateur Company in Worcester, with whom I worked on three productions. One production of 'Caught in the Net' where I was prop mistress, and the productions of 'Journey's End' and 'Blithe Spirit' which I deputy stage-managed.
I have actively participated in a variety of work experience opportunities. The main opportunities including make-up artistry for 'Alice in Wonderland' at Malvern Theatre, Worcestershire; 'Hades' at The Wig Party 2011, Mayfair London; and a variety of characters through scene changes at 'The House of Horrible Horrors' production with Cradley Players Amateur Company, Cradley, Worcestershire.
Additional information:
During the Summer of 2012 I participated in the Camp America scheme. I worked in America for 11 weeks as a Performing Arts leader in a children's camp in Connecticut. I was responsible for running the Performing Arts schedule and directing and performing a show at the end of the week with the children. The whole experience relied on working with initiative but also teamwork, whilst under pressure and in difficult situations.
