About me
I have always enjoyed the creative industries with a special interest in how it's made and solving some of the unique problems that can be found in live entertainment. This has led me to work on a variety of productions, primarily as an independent multi-skilled technician but also as part of a team more focused on more specific areas such as lighting or stage. With a strong background in electronics and logical thinking I also often find myself doing repair and maintenance on site to meet the needs of the production requiring a "be prepared" attitude and willingness to take on a challenge. As well as technical skill, I also have a basic understanding of set construction, temporary structures, rigging and performer flying with practical experience in all of these from different settings such as touring circus, live music, education, fringe theatre and other multi purpose venues. Much of this has also been applied when working in education at both FE and HE level where skills and experience can be passed on but can also be questioned by inquisitive students, pushing boundries and occasionally spurring my own interest into new areas which I haven't explored yet.
Additional skills:
Experience with CAD, AV editing and show control software.
Industry awards:
• IET Accredited degree
• Class 1 and Class 2 PAT testing
• Just FX Stage Pyrotechnic training
• BS7909 tester
Referees:
Available on request
Additional information:
Outside of the world of live entertainment and throughout 2020 I have regularly worked fora security company in a variety of roles from hospital porter to traffic management with training in first aid, fire marshalling and crisis management.
