About me
I have a comprehensive knowledge of craft editing and television production techniques. I am fully conversant with Q Edit, Premier Pro and FCP XI also use After Effects and Photoshop
I have in depth knowledge of Q Edit effects and an understanding of FCP effects. I am used to supplementing graphics and treating stills (either in Photoshop creating 3d manipulations or within the Q edit platform) and keying on Captions etc. I am experienced in all the systems that support edit platforms
I enjoy the editing process and am always ready and willing to contribute ideas to the team.
Whilst working for the Civil Service as a Senior Photographer I was awarded two international film awards for "Front Room Fire" (a film warning about the speed of a fire taking place in an average house front room), this film was used by broadcasters as a public information film.
I also won a third international film award for a film called "Bomb in a Suitcase" (a film about the dangers of leaving aerosol cans in a suitcase in the hold of an aircraft).
I enjoy passing on my knowledge to others and I was a part time Lecturer at both Ravensbourne College and Brooklands College on their Advanced Documentary/Media studies courses.
I am proud to have been involved with the United Nations IFOR (Implementation Force), Bosnia, as part of the Dayton Agreement. I was part of a UN team setting up an Independent television channel to counter bias during the 1996 national elections in Bosnia. My role was as Supervising Editor
Additional information:
When running my production company we specialised in multimedia, media and web integration projects for Corporate Clients/Financial Services companies and Government Departments. I found the day to day running of the company was very interesting and stimulating, the responsibility of having staff under me was interesting and the teamwork I encouraged enabled us to produce some well thought of work.
I am always ready to learn new skills and believe that being flexible and attempting new skills makes for a much more interesting day.
