About me
David Morris is an award-winning writer, producer and director. He has a proven track record in music video production, corporate advertising, branded content, e-learning, screenwriting and documentary having received 16 awards, including Best Documentary at the World Documentary Awards 2018, Best Documentary at the International Independent Film Awards 2017 and Best Documentary at IndieFest 2017, as well as 44 nominations in recent years. His two feature documentaries; “O Outro Lado do Cartão-Postal” (Brazil, 2016) and “After The Sewol” (South Korea, 2017) have both obtained distributors and are currently being sold on Amazon, Google Play and iTunes. David was also part of the team behind the 2018 OSCAR nominated "A River Below".This array of experience has come from the remarkable clients David has worked with. These clients include; Coldplay, Jamie Cullum, TJ Maxx, Amazon, Apple, Google, Imperial College London, Ben Howard, Wagamama and many more. His strong leadership and creative skills have made for a simple, yet effective approach to filmmaking that has seen all of these client’s requirements met. Having had the honor of moving to the USA in October 2018 on an Artist Visa (O1b) David took up the role of Content Producer for Team Enterprises. Here, David successfully pitched and delivered millions of dollars worth of significant pieces for clients such as; Bacardi, Mini, BMW, Mary’s Medicinals, Florida Blue, Miller Lite and YouTube.
As a human rights documentarian, David understands the challenges and rewards that can come from working in different environments, as well as embracing the opportunity to work with those from different cultures and backgrounds. From his work in Brazil, South Korea, Miami and with the refugees of the Jungle refugee camp in Calais, France, David has tried to raise awareness by providing honest representations of people in need whilst ensuring the safety of his crew.
David has also been a Lecturer in Film & TV at Falmouth University, teaching students about his experiences. Here, David has been nominated twice for Innovation in Teaching for his methods and approaches to student experience, underpinned by the UK’s largest work-placement initiative within an Arts university that saw 216 students obtain a placement in 2016. David’s work has been published as part of the AQA Media Studies curriculum in the UK, and has delivered countless guest talks and lectures at institutions such as; TISCH, NYU.
