About me
Hello! My name is Emma, I am originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada. I am a graduate of University of Southern California with a B.A. in Film and Television Production, and I just completed a certificate program at UCLA Extension in Business and Management of Entertainment.
I have a total of eight years of on set and film production experience, and three years of experience in administrative support. My administrative experience comes from my job as the festival organizer of a rapidly growing film festival in Canada, as well as from two internships at busy development companies in Los Angeles. As festival organizer, I was able to work very closely with the festival director as her second in command, a position that allowed me to quickly learn skills in management, event coordination, marketing, and administration. As an intern in Hollywood, I was able to learn the principle skills needed for managing an executive’s desk. My on set experience is mostly from producing and assistant directing, both of which have prepared me for managing large groups of people in a timely and effective way, while fostering a creative but productive environment. I also have a lot of experience in the art department.
In addition to film I have also worked in theatre for eight years; I have directed, produced, and stage managed plays and was the president of the Black Hole Theatre Company at University of Manitoba prior to transferring to USC.
I am a very driven and passionate individual. I have strong communication skills and I am obsessively organized. I love to talk and collaborate with people; one of my favourite parts of this industry is navigating the many different personalities!
