About me
After recently completing a two year contract working for Cunard for their 175th Anniversary year I am available from January 2016, I am based in Aberdeen, Scotland. Production Tech primarily lighting but good all rounder with Stage Management experience overall fifteen years working live events. Forks/Telehandler/IPAF/CSCS/H&S Passport , own harness, vehicle and clean driving licence.I graduated with a degree in Entertainment Technology from the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. This course was very wide reaching and covered topics such as electrics, audio technology,
lighting, Event Management and AV.
Following University I started out in the industry crewing events for around 8 years which along with my qualifications has given me a strong base knowledge of how events work from the ground up.
During this time I gained a number of important skills such as team work, consideration for others, responsibility, punctuality, timekeeping and self-discipline.
Working with various clients and event teams nationally and internationally has enabled me to listen carefully to others and work with a variety of people, it has also helped improve my leadership
qualities. I feel comfortable managing teams of people and delegating tasks to others but I am also comfortable working independently, using my own initiative to solve problems, work to, and meet
deadlines.
Travelling abroad to a variety of countries in Europe, Mediterranean, the Caribbean and Middle East has broadened my perspective on life and given me a wider experience of the industry abroad. Over the last fifteen years I have worked intensively in many different roles and sectors of the entertainment industry from live music, theatre, dance, festivals, and more corporate conferences and exhibitions.
I am constantly trying to learn and widen my skills and knowledge which has enabled me to move successfully into roles with more responsibility, some of these roles include Venue Technical and
Production Management, Stage Management, Lighting/Sound/AV Tech and some programming and operational roles, you can see this in more detail from my work history.
My experience to date, both in academic and work related roles have helped me to develop and maintain a variety of transferable skills throughout all disciplines in the live events industry that I
believe puts me in a good position to be a valuable addition to any company.
