About me
Currently looking for an entry level position into the television or film industry. I consider myself a highly capable graduate from the University of Leeds who has performance experience and practical experience of the logistics involved in creating theatre. The transferable skills i have gained from my degree along with my creativity and drive to succeed are the factors that will make me successful in the long term.I believe some of my key skills are:
Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Confident personality
Ability to effectively work in a team or individually
Creativity
Logical
Driven and motivated
Able to work under pressure and within deadlines/ time restraints.
Additional information:
Having completed a theatre and performance degree i have vast experience of working in groups of varying sizes ranging (3-4, up to 21 other people). The nature of my theatre degree focused on collaboration and ensuring that you are flexible working within groups that could change week in week out depending on the task at hand.
My primary experience is as an actor, throughout my time at university i performed in 8 shows through University societies alongside my degree during which time I have become familiar with roles undertaken by production teams. Due to the nature of student productions there is often cross over and on several occasions I assisted producers by running the social media for the shows or by contacting external companies I knew of in order to rent set or acquire promotional materials.
The collaborative student led nature of the practical work created on the degree allowed me to branch out into script writing, directing and taking on production roles. An example of this can found in my final performance project, The Dreaming. Whilst working on The Dreaming I had first hand experience of working alongside Stage@Leeds attending the production meetings as a cast liaison, communicating the practical needs of the show and finding compromises when our intentions were not possible or allowed by Stage@Leeds.
Furthermore, whilst undertaking this project I was responsible for the running and planning of the marketing strategy. This involved scheduling, conceptualisation, the creation of content via photoshop and managing the social media interactions if the company.
What I am hoping to have demonstrated above is that I have a versatile skill set that I am more than capable to applying to any given challenge, which is something that I would now like to build upon and utilise within the film an tv industry.
