About me
I have spent the last 5 years working full time as a Theatre and Events Technician for companies like Rock City Stage Crew, Connection Crew and The Birmingham REP as well as other Freelance roles. Whilst at the University of Birmingham securing a 2.1 BA Drama and Theatre Arts degree, I maintained steady part time work, freelance positions and summer contracts. Since graduating, I have worked at range of jobs, that have meant I am now practiced in building stage, lighting, sound and AV set ups with experience in venues such as the Cardiff Motorpoint, Bristol O2 Arena and The Roundhouse, as well as smaller venues like Painters Hall and The Hilton on Park Lane.As well as my event work I have spent the last four summers at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in various technical and managerial positions, most recently being promoted to venue manager in 2017 with The Pleasance Edinburgh. As a Venue Manager I am required to act as technician, artist liaison and stage manager, whilst managing and training a team of volunteers in order to maintain consistent 15 minute turnovers between the 10 daily performances throughout the festival.
With extensive practice in a range of builds, trouble shooting lighting and sound set-ups, working long hours and completing rapid get outs as well professional Client and Customer liaisons, I believe I have the motivation, commitment and technical skillets required to be a valuable member of your team.
