About me
Sachin Kabir is a Mumbai-based Cinematographer.The DoP
He is enthusiastic to collaborate with Directors and Producers wanting to squeeze out the human experience of our existence.
This has nudged Sachin to work on independent features, all of which have received much critical acclaim. “Hansa” (Dir. Manav Kaul, 2012) was awarded Best Film (Audience Vote and Critics) Award at OSIAN'S CINEFAN 2012, while “A Gran Plan” (Dir. Sangeeta Nambiar, 2014) received several awards in festivals at Los Angeles, New York, and Delhi.
His latest "G Kutta Se" (Dir. Rahul Dahiya, 2017) went to MAMI Gold and is fast becoming a cult film in India.
The Cameraman
Earlier in his career in Television, Sachin covered "hot spots" such as Kashmir, Palestine as a news cameraman, and took up numerous big lens shoots in International Cricket, Tennis and Hockey.
He has been on assignments with leading broadcasters like Sony, Set Max, BBC, ZDF, Ten Sports, Arte, France Canal 2, and Swiss TV2, travelling across India, Europe, and East Asia.
The Person
A graduate of India’s oldest and best-known TV school at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, Sachin shares his rich experience with young, visual enthusiasts through workshops in cinematography at The FX School, Mumbai.
Trained in classical music, Sachin has played the Sarod for over 30 years.
