Advent

2016, 10 minutes

The Council has been feeding its youth lies about Christmas for generations. One man sets out to expose their dystopian regime...

Advent is a dystopian dark-comedy based in a parallel world, where The Council keeps the truth about Christmas from its inhabitants until the age of 21. Their aim? To construct the perfect utopian holiday. But not all are happy to move on from having lived an existence of lies. In the aftermath of the reveal, Mitchel takes an aggressive approach, which not only puts strains on his relationship with Grace, but endangers the secrets of the ruling government body and his freedom if they stop him. At its heart, advent is a film about moving on and re-establishing priorities.
