Dots

It's a comic but black film about isolation and the way that we do not tend to see other people as they really are, but instead see the cartoons that we have drawn of them.

Dots is a short film about an 18 year old girl who arrives at university at St Andrews in 2001 to find a world of glossy upper-class girls who all seem to have one aim: becoming Prince William's girlfriend. Feeling isolated from the other students, she goes for walks alone by the sea at dusk. One evening, she sees a mysterious man standing in the water, wearing a silver jacket and staring out to sea. She becomes fixated with finding the man and speaking to him. When she finally does, she finds herself plunged into a disturbing and disorientating world.
