Open auditions for feature film The Evening Hour next weekend

OPEN auditions are taking place for a feature film shooting in Kentucky, US, next weekend.

The open casting call – held by Arvold Casting – is for feature film The Evening Hour which will be directed by Sundance NHK award winner Braden King and produced by Beasts of the Southern Wild producer Lucas Joaquin.

Arvold Casting are holding the auditions for speaking and non-speaking roles on Saturday September 8 between 2-5pm in Harlan, Kentucky.

All ages and ethnicities are required including older adults, boys aged 7-10, nurses, veterans, police officers, restaurant owners, youth pastors and teachers.

Arvold Casting are looking for people with "interesting, expressive faces" and acting experience is not required.

Compensation will be on the scale of other professional productions for speaking or non-speaking roles.

The casting call will "consist of a brief talk with a member of the casting team and possibly an interview on camera" and a "positive attitude and the ability to wait quietly are good traits to put to use".

Every participant must bring a non-returnable photograph and, ideally, two copies of a resume and headshot.

The film follows Cole Freeman whose world is thrown into disarray when his old friend Terry Rose returns to his rural Appalachian town.

Faced with an impossible set of choices and increasing pressure from all side, Cole is force to take action to save the close-knit fabric of family, friendship, land and history that binds everything – and everyone – he loves.

Filming commences on October 8.
