The star-studded event was presented by US chat show host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel and saw Get Out, Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri and The Shape of Water rake in awards.

The Silent Child director Chris Overton used to crew the film.

"We took about 9 months to fundraise on Indiegogo," says the British filmmaker who shot the project in 10 days.

He Chris described the type of people he prefers to work with to Mandy News, adding: "The best people we’ve worked with are there to get the best out of themselves.

"They’re not necessarily doing it for the money at this stage in their career.

"For a lot of people that got involved and gave their time for nothing for The Silent Child, it now is going to pay dividends.

"It’s going to help them get their next job."

Mandy News also had the pleasure of talking to other crew members from the film including composer Amir Konjani, gaffer Neal Parsons and boom operator Sebastian Levy Polat about their experiences.

The Mandy team offer their congratulations to The Silent Child crew's amazing accomplishment!

Oscars night saw The Shape of Water earn awards for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Score, Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri bagged gongs for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor and Get Out writer Jordan Peele won for Best Original Screenplay.
