We are a professional and community Theatre supporting self expression, and artistic development based in Bournemouth, Dorset.
Artemis is not an ‘Am-dram’ society. Artemis is inspired by Ancient and modern Myths and Storytelling from the diverse cultures of our SocietyWe are offering 4 workshops 3rd March—17th March 2019 to develop a Theatre Production through improvisation, based on this Greek myth.
An original script will be written during the 2 month’s following the workshops. Not only is this a training course developing skills in acting, voice, movement, characterisation, Director Christina Artemis will introduce her specialist concepts of transformational theatre. This an amazing opportunity to work with this innovative Director with over 35 years experience in theatre and the personal growth industry plus 14 original productions ‘under her belt’
Each workshop costs £10 pp for 3-4 hours session (this is a nominal fee to cover costs) and will be reduced if you pay for 1 year membership.
Artemis will be holding Auditions late May (see Mandy Site for future details)
We commence rehearsals from May, June, July, (August) with September performances. Consideration will be given to those who attend the Workshops in March.
We encourage all ages with or without any previous experience:
- Younger people wanting to develop confidence artistically, social skills.
- Mature generation (50-80+) who want to be part of a creative Hub.
- We welcome budding writers who want to join the writing team.
- We welcome those who wish to mainly focus on Costume, Media, Sound, marketing and Stage Management. We need you all!
What makes working with Artemis different?
Christina has developed a synthesis between traditional drama, dance, voice techniques and the use of dynamic Breath Mastery (conscious connected breathing) which increases the life force and helps release blockages, both technically & emotionally. This is transformational theatre. She has an extraordinary ability to help artists to open up to their inner worlds to rich imagination, leading to emotional freedom, to heal old neurological patterns of low self esteem; all assisting characterisation in a creative way.
