DRAMA SCHOOL AUDITION PREPARATION WORKSHOP

High quality workshops led by some of the UK's best directors /casting directors. 100% of participants who completed our training got into drama school. An ethical company - 100% profits go towards theatre projects for disadvantaged young people.

Suitable for actors, aspiring actors and students preparing to audition for drama school, and preparing classical and contemporary speeches for auditions or performance. You may have auditioned unsuccessfully before, or you may be seeking extra guidance before making your first applications.

This will be a masterclass in how an actor can prepare a monologue from scratch to performance, with insights into how to approach auditioning for drama school. Exercises will be practical and structured to gain maximum skills and techniques in approaching speeches and working in detail, including applying actioning, units and objectives, and characterisation.

There will be insights into the audition day itself, what to expect and what else to prepare to set yourself apart from the competition.

There will be a mix of group, paired and solo work, including elements of workshopping, and participants will work intensively and cover a great deal of ground. You will leave the session with confidence in audition preparation techniques, and a deeper insight into the process itself.

Participants are required to bring a hard copy of a monologue which has been learnt, but not fully rehearsed. This can be either classical or contemporary. Participants wishing to apply to drama school should refer to the individual drama school guidance on choice of speech in advance of the session.

Led by National Theatre Resident Director 2019, Matt Harrison.
