Nominated to perform Sitar and take part of the BBC Concert Orchestra Performances in 2009, 2010, and 2011. The Performances were broadcast on BBC Radio 3. We worked in groups to compose music and melodies.

About me
Sitarist and composer, Amisha Karsan, is a graduate in BMus (Hons) Music Performance and Music Management from London College of Music. The combined degree course allowed Amisha to perform and create compositions as well as learn the management side of the live music business.Music Performance modules include: Performance Studies, Composition and Arranging, Desktop Composition, LCM Music Factory, Performance Project and Showcase Studies.
The module Composition and arranging involved creating and composing music for picture and moving images/short film as well as arranging music into a different style.
The LCM music factory module included composing and producing a track to a specific brief and style of music.
Music Management modules include: Agency and Promoters, Touring Logistics and Planning, Festival Studies, The Role of Music Management, Professional Skills and Music Video Production.
The module Agency and Promoters dealt with the live music business and the role of the artist manager, booking agent and promoter in establishing and advancing the career of an artist through concerts and touring.
Touring Logistics and Planning examined the actual planning, pre-production, and implementation off successful music concert tours.
Amisha was nominated to participate with the BBC Concert Orchestra many times to perform in front of a large audience at The Royal Festival Hall, The Watford Palace Theatre and The Hackney Empire. These performances were broadcast on BBC Radio 3. She is influenced by the composer Frazer Trainer. She is a member of The Grand Union Youth Orchestra. Amisha met professional world musicians such as sitar player Jasdeep Degun Singh, trumpet player Shanti Jayasinha and tabla player Yousuf Ali Khan during the Grand Union summer school at Oundle School in Peterborough.
Amisha also had the opportunity to perform sitar and speak on BBC Asian network and BBC Radio London.

Additional information:
Amisha completed an apprenticeship scheme with the Grand Union Orchestra where she travelled to Whittlesey in Peterborough to teach her composition to students and their families. She also taught the Indian classical notation system to them and answered questions requested by the students and families.

Graduate in BMus (Hons) Music Performance and Music Management from the London College of Music. Communication and composition skills demonstrated through many musical performances playing the Sitar. A self-disciplined student who was nominated to perform with the BBC concert orchestra, broadcasted on BBC Radio 3, three times.
