About me
I am Sound Engineer educated at Islington Music Workshop, with many years of practical hands on experience, live mixing, stage managing and trouble shooting.Though live sound has always been my main passion. Over the years I have experienced the music industry from many different angles, as a musician, promoter venue supervisor. stage hand as well as a sound engineer.
This has given me a very good perspective on how to communicate and work well with others towards getting the best results possible. I have learned how to get the fantastic sound under pressure and often under less than perfect circumstances.
I pride myself on being friendly and engaged with the artists and promoters, working with them to create a positive atmosphere, and helping to make sure everything runs smoothly and to scheduled. I am always dedicated to getting the best sound possible whatever the style of the artist. I have worked in a variety of genres including Rock, Punk, Metal, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Dance, Experiments Noise and traditional singer song writing.
Some artists I have mixed sound for include:
Six by Seven, Neil’s Children, B-Movie, Dean Garcia from Curve, Sterling Roswell from Spacemen 3, TV Smith from The Adverts, Fruit Bat from Carter USM and The Jazz Butcher among many others.
I have recorded and mixed CDs for a number of independent bands which have got them noticed by record companies such as Mute, Mushroom and Creation.
My computer skill include: Logic, Ableton, Reason/Record, Acid Pro, Line 6 and most of the Native Instruments products.
I am always looking for new opportunities to learn and expand my skills.
Additional skills:
Audio Visual: I worked at Pleasance Theater as an Audio Visual Technician as party of a team recording a lecture event presented by producers and writers from BBC and The League of Gentleman comedy team. I have also been the boom operator on a number of small independent films.
Stage Hand: in 2003 I worked for Stage Miracles, one of the largest stage crew suppliers in the UK. This included: loading in & out of equipment / stage construction / setting up lighting rigs / linking up cable connections / stage running and fixing issues on stage when necessary for the artist during the performance.
Performances: As well as mixing sound for bands I have worked with a variety of performance artists, playing music cues and lighting effects at the appropriate times in their shows. I have also designed props and written a number of short burlesque performances at the Marquee Club in Leicester Square. Often stage managing the shows and helping to organise the performers / I have also created set designs for an independent music video and been the boom operator on some short independent films. / I also have performed myself in a number of bands and occasionally as a comedy actor.
As a musician I have supported artistes such as:
Glasvegas, Alabama 3, The Chameleons, Queen Adreena, Lene Lovich and Sheep on Drugs.
