About me
Performing is home. I love the energy of instant crowd-feedback, and understanding characters intimately when bringing penned ideas to life. Revisiting the craft has revived and intensified my passion, which I’ll pursue unreservedly.Acting experience:
Schism: A short, student-made film. I played lead-role - a male in a new town, who begins seeing apparitions and descends into madness.
Gagging For It: A play. I played lead role - a teenage male on vacation, who falls in love, but whose girlfriend dies from ecstasy. This was during GCSE drama, and my performance was graded A.
Singing experience:
I sang in a band from age 14-17. Generally classic and indie rock covers. I also sang acoustic ballads. My voice is similar to Buble and Sinatra, so I sing well in the crooning style.
Specific skills:
Customer service: from adjusting to best serve them, I've learned to imitate various voices and mannerisms of past-customers. I'm also a clear and effective communicator.
I walked 775km in 25 days without training, so can adapt to new physical challenges.
I'm skilled with video-editing software.
Additional skills:
Worked in customer services; using empathy, I got a feel for various personalities, voices and habits of customers, expanding the range of what I can imitate.
I sing well in a crooning style, closer to Buble and Sinatra.
I'm superb at improvising, and can turn a synopsis into an in-character monologue on-the-fly.
Interesting past experiences:
Without a plan, I wandered through Europe, stayed often with strangers, then ended up walking the length of Spain on a 25-day pilgrimage.
I do voice impressions of fictional characters and of past customers I've served. I've gotten adept at changing my tone and accent.
I wrote two screenplays as a hobby.
My interests:
Films, politics, self-development, new cultures and people. I favour real-life journeys adapted to film e.g. Into the Wild.
Additional information:
I excelled at GCSE drama, used to sing in a band, wrote two screenplays for a hobby and produce great amusing voice impressions.
