About me
Hi, my life has always somehow evolved around theatre. My Grandma took my sister and I to the theatre when we were younger and that started our passion for the theatre. When I was younger I loved singing and acting on stage, my parents always encouraged me whenever it came to my passions. When I first started looking for courses to do at college or maybe staying on at 6th form and what career I wanted to do, I will admit that technical theatre was not the first thing to do I thought of, but when I saw an advertisement for the course at college it pulled my strings. So I decided to visit West Cheshire College to see what the course was about and after talking to the course tutor I soon thought that this is the course for me. I was so excited to start and I have stayed enthusiastic all throughout my course. My sister is an actress. So I have always had an interest in joining my sister as an actress, but I found the backstage side of productions much more fulfilling when I started this course. Still the theatre has been an important part of my life and I do not see that changing. I know what managing a production to success entails as I have recently been working on the production. My first year of college was so much fun I finished the year with a small 90 credit diploma at a Distinction* and carried on to second year to do the extended diploma The first so many months of my second year have gone very fast and I have enjoyed myself. I was given my first show role as the Stage manager for our college pantomime 'Aladdin' and so far I have had such fun creating the show, even though we have had some setbacks such as we have not been given the full script as parts are still being devised, I have not been pushed back or stopped because of these. I had a colleague at College who was my DSM who I also shadowed as that is the career path I wish to take in the future. I have worked with sound designers as a sound operator so I have an extensive knowledge on sound systems and sound set-ups. I am also talking the sound design unit as I like working with sound and I worked with a sound designer recently on our College production of 'A Christmas Carol' last year. I also helped the lighting designer to rig and focus lanterns in a show too, so I also have some comprehension of lighting, as I also helped operate lights with the designer. This was also for the production 'Machinal' last year. I have created props for different show such as trays that the dancers could dance with, without dropping them. I also created papers that looked authentic for A Christmas Carol so nothing looked out of place and I have made paper money that was needed for 'Machinal' while understanding not to breaking any perjury laws. On the other hand I sourced props, which could not be made such as pockets watches, engagements ring and coin money for pouches of wages. The most recent role at college I have taken on is the role of stage manager for our college pantomime 'Aladdin'. I have enjoyed this role a lot and have applied to also do the DSM a role on a show at college as well. I have really enjoyed this course and wish to carry on with this career route as a deputy stage manager at university. I am very passionate about theatre and I will always hold my love for play my trumpet as well as singing. My dedication to the theatre will hold throughout my life and I hope to continue at University.Additional skills:
I have many and a wide variety of skills that include music reading as I play and instrument. I can read most music scores for musicals and Ballet.
