About me
I am an experienced theatre professional with a background in Administrative, Producorial and technical positions. I completed my undergraduate degree in Theatre and Performance studies at the University of Warwick, where I directed and produced new works for fringe theatre companies. This involved creating press releases, editing websites, posters and mood boards using Premier Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver and all Microsoft Office programs. Alongside this, I provided administrative support to Light Post Theatre’s 16-25 Company in conjunction with the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.I am currently working towards a Masters in Creative Writing (Screenwriting & Playwriting) at City University of London, where I have written a series of stage plays. My play Shadows received 4&5 star reviews and sold out its three night run at Theatro Technis, Kings Cross last year. This process has required me to fundraise, book venues for rehearsals, formulate script reports and strict budget plans. I previously worked at King Solomon International Business School as a teacher of Drama and Art to secondary students. Here, I produced and directed the schools very first production of ‘Scrooge’ which achieved a 97% Judges Commendation at the Knights of Saint Columba award ceremony, presented by the Lord Mayor at the Council Chamber of Birmingham City. I organised many successful enterprise days at the school and have facilitated drama and music workshops around the country in conjunction with Mind charity, the Birmingham Repertory Theatre and Oxford Playhouse in order to fundraise.
As highlighted, I have an Intense drive to work as part of a team and a past involvement in administrative and technical positions.
