About me
A graduate of Tameside College and Leigh Image Centre Cheryl Rowe has gained a variety of skills and abilities in make-up artistry. Cheryl has always had a great passion for creating make-up designs and dreamt of becoming a make-up artist before her academic studies. Cheryl’s career has given her vital experience and skills towards her becoming a professional make-up artist such as interpersonal and customer service skills and research and I.T skills, creating design plans to strict deadlines and planning and executing visual displays. Cheryl has always had an avid interest in history especially in the history of costume and make-up. After working on a number of events and displays that included period costume in museums her enthusiasm and interest grew in the history of fashion and makeup trends and her desire to work in the makeup industry. Cheryl Rowe - freelance make-up artist. I have worked within a number of theatres for productions such as pantomimes and musicals such as Evita. I have also created make-up for fashion shoots such as for a clothing website RM31. My most recent work was for the Co-operative British Youth Film Academy and involved creating designs and applying character make-up for various short film productions. A number of films also needed special effects make-up, I created vampire make-up and effects such as scars, burns, cuts and bruises. I have also just helped with a fashion show for the Bram Stoker festval creating Gothic, Victorian and Steam Punk looks.
