About me
I graduated from King’s College London last year with a BA First Class Honours in English Language and Literature. Alongside studying for my degree and in the months after, I have gained three years of paid and voluntary experience in the Arts, primarily theatre, in both creative and administrative capacities. In these jobs I have fulfilled assistant and leadership roles. I have directed three full-scale productions: a piece of new writing comedy about the application process to Oxbridge (Bricking It, 2015), a contemporary work of published new writing that explores the power of a surveillance state over individual lives and identities (Edgar & Annabel by Sam Holcroft, 2015) and a new adaptation of a radical late-nineteenth century play (The Seagull , 2016). I hope to further explore theatre that experiments with dramatic form and how this might relate to ways of presenting female experience. In parallel with my creative projects is the importance of making sure new audiences, in particular young audiences, can watch the work in an attempt to help theatre reach further. This at the core of the administrative work I do. For three years I have been working with the Cultural Programming team at King's College London, on a variety of projects from their National Theatre Live programme to the art exhibitions they mount. I produce marketing and social media content, I provide organisational and administrative support in the office, I manage events, attend project meetings and engage with audience members. I want to help ensure there are new audiences who are engaging with the arts, and might eventually want to create art themselves: this is what I hope to be able to continue to do professionally.Referees:
