About me
I have a passion for the arts and theatre, having been taken to shows and concerts by my parents from an early age. Whilst I am not an artist, I really enjoy bringing my technical expertise to the creative team to help bring their stories and performances to life on stage. This is my chosen career.Additional skills:
I have the necessary skills to pre-rig lighting equipment to a stage plan, but also to install, focus and hot-spot lighting once touring companies arrive. I have recently designed the lighting for a 12-performance Christmas show (for Four Wheeled Theatre).
I have a good knowledge of programming ETC Nomad and operating ETC Ion at both UATW and Leicester College. I also have a working knowledge of Zero 88 Jester and Leapfrog. I program quickly and accurately, and have been commended by a number of touring companies for my work (eg Proforca Theatre). I regularly cue lighting for resident and touring companies from scripts. I regular work with both generic and intelligent lighting equipment (eg movers, LEDs). I help with the maintenance and repair regimes at both theatres, including the cleaning of lighting equipment, strip downs and lamp replacements.
Whilst my preference is for working with lighting, I also have a good working knowledge of sound and the use of Yamaha, Roland and Soundcraft sound desks and programming using QLab.
I am good at fault diagnosis to isolate and track down problems. I am computer literate and use both the Windows and Mac operating systems on a daily basis.
My work with stock control and preparing customer click/collect orders at Wickes, means that I have good and safe logistic skills.
Industry awards:
I qualified with RSL Level 3 Performance Arts Production with Merit in August 2019.
I also hold PASMA Tower, IPAF Operator 3A Mobile Vertical and 3B Mobile Boom qualifications, and have been trained to use pump trucks for moving heavy loads.
I also have BTEC Level 2 in Performing Arts Production, GCSEs in both English and Maths, and a full driving license.
