About me
I am the Creative Director of the St. James Theatre with particular responsibility for programming the 312 seat main house and 100 seat St. James Studio. The main house has become known for musical theatre, edgy new writing and revivals of ground-breaking plays. The Studio is a cabaret style venue with a packed programme of cabaret, comedy, music and theatre.I am also a director, and formally an actor and teacher. Most recently I directed 'Lysistrata' for Actors of Dionysus at the Rose Theatre in Kingston. Other directing credits include a staged reading of a new trilogy of Greek plays at the British Museum, 'Bottle' at the Trsitan Bates and the Komedia, co-directing 'Dream of the Dog', at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg and resident director of ATG's revival of Jeremy Sam's production of 'Noises Off'. As an actor I have worked at the RSC, the West End in regional Theatre and on TV.
I taught for 2 years at the Academy of Performing Arts in Newcastle under Lyne and as a tutor at the Actors Centre.
Additional skills:
Experience working with writers on new plays, devising theatre and comedy.
Programming theatre, comedy, cabaret and music and producing theatre and cabaret.
