About me
I have been a manager in the performing arts for over 15 years; I have worked in production and administration in theatres, performing art schools and venues both in Europe and in the United States, working on events, concerts, dance, opera plays and developing school programs.While my degrees and focus have always been on management, administration and producing, I have held almost every position backstage and in the front of house, including marketing and public relations; as a result I am deeply aware of every stage of the process of offering a live performance to an audience.
In the past three or four years I have also deepened my interest and developed my skills in all web-related matters, from building websites to the use of social media both personally and professionally.
Additionally, I have recently been working with young artists and helping them develop their art; I have worked with performing arts educational institutions since 2006 and I deeply enjoy fostering the blossoming of young artists as well as developing an audience for them.
While my CV illustrates my experience and training, what it cannot communicate is my dedication to my craft. My professional creed and particular skills include:
* Pride in the quality of my work, and a willingness to personally perform even the most menial tasks to remove project obstacles and get the job done;
* Ability to envision how specific parts of the process should flow, and communicate and develop those ideas, always with positive results;
* Expertise in production assessment and collaborating with artistic and technical directors in the evaluation of a repertoire;
* Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines;
* Excellent organisational skills;
* A detailed attention to budgeting and planning financial resources for the success of the institution, with a focus on negotiating with both artists and vendors of all kinds;
* Ability to build lasting relationships with artists, vendors, skilled labour, audience, students and colleagues;
* A passion for developing new and innovative approaches to problem solving and a deep belief in teamwork;
* Excellent skills in guiding, motivating, training and mentoring young artists and managers.
My degree in theatre and my diverse management and public relations skills make me a good candidate for a position in either production or administration; with my experience, my passion and a strong commitment to my craft, I know I could add significant value to any team.
During my experience as production and event coordinator and administrator in the last seven years or so, I have developed and refined my organisational skills, and the ability to keep an eye on the big picture while paying attention to the details; I know how to identify priorities and distribute the workload along an efficient timeline. Always keeping an open mind, I am able to be creative in identifying new options or solutions.
And while it might take some time to get up to speed with the specifics of each organisation, having prepared, monitored and interpreted numerous budgets, invoices, contracts and documents of all kinds, I feel confident in my financial management and drafting skills, as well as my ability to make decisions and communicate them and their reasons. I am a believer in team-work and love working with others, and, while I am comfortable working alone and making decisions, I always try to create and maintain a pleasant work environment where good communication is the norm and everyone is open to suggestions and critique.
I am looking for a vital and dynamic institution where to bring my professional skills and develop new ones, implementing current strategies as well as developing new ones.
Being a EEA national, I do not need a permit to live and work in the UK, and with my well-rounded professional background, I look forward to a new and interesting career opportunity.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for any further question or information. References are easily available upon request.
I look forward to discussing my qualifications in more detail.
