About me
For me costume for performance is a form of art. It has a similar process with fashion, such as research for a concept, trends, fabrics and materials. Working as a costume designer helped me develop a different way of thinking and acting. My researches in creating costumes that are the actual performance gave me the opportunity to work with the well know artist/creative director Ulla Von Brandenburg. The actors were interacting with the costumes and the props live on stage. I was responsible for the concept, design and making the costumes using different skills and tailoring techniques. It was very interesting to see how I could use modern methods of pattern making to create period jackets, shirts and trousers. One of the researches I developed in my teaching experience was to create new ways of understanding pattern making and pattern cutting. I wanted to create new techniques for young students to actually be able to create what they designed with easier methods.Additional skills:
