About me
Mark's passion for theatre started with a childhood birthday present to see Phantom of the Opera at the age of 9 from his favourite grown up, Nanny Peggy. Some years later and after a few childhood roles as a rat, a councillor, a villager, the piped piper and the artful dodger, he started his professional career in the Arts on the hugely successful Tweenies Live! international Arena tours.
Since then Mark's career has taken him all over the world. From Bangsar Theatre in Malaysia, to Pavilhão Atlântico Arena in Lisbon, to Ductac Theatre in Dubai, to Wembley Stadium in London (to name a few!) Mark has been involved in over 25 productions and events of various scales worldwide to audiences across multi languages and cultures.
From the international arena tours of Bob the Builder Live!, Noddy Live!, Balamory Live!, Ruca Live! and Thomas & Friends Live! To the theatre tours of Milkshake Live!, Cartoon Network Live!, Brainiac Live!, Dr Bunhead's Recipes for Disaster and Steptoe and Son (to name but a few more!).
Mark spent over 10 years as Executive Producer and General Manager of two of the UK's leading entertainment companies specialising in family entertainment and edu-entertainment.
In 2011 Mark wrote and directed the touring production of Brainiac Live, which still tours today and also took on the role of Creative Producer for the Big Bang Fair at Excel, London where he developed the headlining content for the main stage aswell as oversaw the creative energisers for the National Awards ceremony.
Early 2012 Mark wrote and directed the national theatre tour of Science Museum Live which, was a live production built around the educational core key stages whereby the show looked at the science of industry and developed a series of chemical and gas based demonstrations while on stage. The tour went on to play 50 theatres around the UK to 5 star reviews and be highly commended with the Educational Directive Award.
In 2012 Mark started the process of writing and developing a production on behalf of Guinness World Records and Recordbreaking Entertainment which could tour a key team of personnel and then use different casts and technical crews at each resort across the various Butlins Holiday resorts. The tour of Guinness World Records Science was born, written and directed from initial concept to final show and went on to be seen by audiences of over removed across the year.
March 2012 saw Mark once again take on the role of Creative Producer on behalf of Engineering UK/M4 Entertainment Limited for the Big Bang Fair at the NEC in Birmingham. Mark oversaw the creative and technical delivery of the content on the main stage and also worked alongside Greg Foot and the Science Junkies to develop the energisers at the events awards ceremony.
In late 2012 Mark wrote and directed the production of Science Museum Live – The Highlights Show and oversaw the technical delivery into a site specific location at London's prestigious Science Museum in Kensington.
As 2013 started Mark was engaged by Guinness World Records and M4 Entertainment to write, direct and produce the national theatre tour of Guinness World Records Officially Amazing Science Live. The tour went on to play over 50 UK based No 1 touring venues. It received great reviews for its "originality and anarchic approach to record breaking". Mark oversaw the project from initial concept to final production as well as oversaw the project management and technical delivery of the production.
In March 2013, Mark was once again engaged to act as Creative Producer at The Big Bang Fair 2013 where he developed, wrote and directed both productions on the main stage and also developed the creative aspects of the National Awards ceremony while overseeing the technical delivery of both productions.
