About me
I completed my National Diploma in Technical Theatre at the College of West Anglia in July 2009, and achieved Distinctions in every area. I have been interested in both sound and light technology since the age of 10. I was involved in several local theatres gaining experience in both lighting and sound during my school years which included work experience whilst Starlight Express was running at Norwich Theatre Royal. Whilst at college, I was employed as a technician at local theatres covering performances from Royal Ballet to Pantomimes. There was the opportunity to further my studies at University but I preferred learning the necessary technical and personal skills in the workplace. I travelled nationwide with two companies working as far afield as London and Dundee. Recently I have worked for the past three summer seasons as sound & light technician for a touring entertainment team in Spain. This has involved being lighting and sound engineer for a live show team, and also being responsible for all lighting and sound aspects throughout all venues, as the sole technical member of the team. It has provided me with a huge amount of experience of working in a team, travelling and having to deal with constantly changing situations such as changing stages due to adverse weather conditions. I have always enjoyed any work which involves setting up and de-rigging different rigs in a variety of venues which for me has included Wembley Stadium, and I am confident that I am able to adapt the equipment available to me, to suit the venue to the best possible advantage. I have had to work under time pressures, long hours on my own, and also at short notice. It has been an ambition of mine to be a light and sound technician from an early age and with the touring experience I have now gained I feel ready to progress to the next stage of my career. I am a friendly, reliable person, keen to travel and am happy to be part of a team.

Additional information:
Because of my level of achievement in lighting at college the Course Director requested that I go back during the term to teach 1st and 2nd year students on lighting theory and the use of the college lighting desks. I have also been asked by a local High School to do similar teaching work with their Drama students.
