Crew:
I am a dependent and hardworking carpenter and designer with 6 years workshop experience in both the theatre and commercial industry. I am looking for freelance carpentry work in and around London and the surrounding counties as well as set design work in theatre, opera and dance.
As well as working I have been studying Technical Theatre at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama over the last two years and have built up a lot of experience working on large-scale theatre productions. During this time I have taken on professional work at theatres such as The Barbican, The Arcola and The Southwark Playhouse. Before studying I worked as a carpenter for 3 and a half years making mirror frames, household accessories and furniture. Over the last 18 months I have been working extensively with set building companies such as True Staging, Made Up, eStage, Capital Scenery and Scott Fleary helping to build sets for West End and fringe theatres as well as commercial sets for London Fashion Week, Kiss, Corona and Marks & Spencer. These companies demand the highest standard of build for the launches of their products. I am a competent user of AutoCAD and am able to read and draw technical drawings. I am also trained in MIG welding and hold an IPAF card and a CITB Health and Safety qualification.
I am also always forwarding my design career, designing sets for both theatre and corporate events. I have recently completed the design for an Opera Scenes production at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as well as a TEDx talk in Clapham which I built and installed. My other design experience includes a production of 'Mercury Fur' at the Milton Court Studio Theatre which I designed and built myself.
