About me
I am a freelance Actor, Prodcucer and Teacher from London. I have been working accross TV, Film, Radio and Stage for 15 years. My work has made me passionate about the far reaching benefits of performance based study, both as a means to develop skills as an actor but more over to develop a sense of understanding of the world around us. I have designed, led and facilitated tailored drama workshops in school settings and in private sessions for young people aged from 4 to 18, as well as being the Vice Principal and Drama teacher at PQA Bow. My teaching ethos is centred upon enabling young people to explore their understanding of characters and texts and to apply critical thinking to those perceptions, broadening the scope of their understanding. The result is always to be able to empathise and react accordingly both in drama practise and out in the real world. Encouraging and engaging with young people from all walks of life and of all abilities is something that really excites me. My belief in Drama as a means to build empathetic individuals and peaceful and tolerant communities drives me always, as much as the allure of working with the next break out young actor.
I am an equal opportunities advocate and actively champion new voices from under-represented and emerging talent in my work as Producer for Blink. Theatre. Within this company I have Produced regular new writing event RESPONSE at The Old Red Lion Theatre. Submissions are invited from writers and actors who believe and can testify that they are both emerging and under represented. We develop their work and then showcase it. It has become a crtictcally acclaimed event with some plays currently being developed further by Blink.
