About me
Shankho is a designer fascinated with the creative intersection of technology with the performing arts to create new experiences and explore societal truths. He loves working collaboratively within the theatre process and rehearsal, and thoroughly enjoys the visual dramaturgy of design. He seeks to work on new writing that highlights minority voices, experiments with form and challenges cultural hegemony, through a range of medium: theatre, film, visual communication, and interaction design.Graduating with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London in 2016, Shankho went on to study Global Innovation Design at the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London between 2016 - 2018. Over the six years of university, he gradually became embedded in Imperial’s student theatre culture - first performing, then choreographing, directing and eventually designing stages for Imperial’s 120 seat Union Concert Hall. During this time he also served for one year as the Musical Theatre Society’s President.
This coincided with a growing fascination with the “future of storytelling”, that he explored through his design work. His body of work contains experiments with Virtual Reality and Music, Motion Capture and Dance, and his final thesis project was a speculative design exploring the possibility of augmented reality in a theatrical setting.
