About me
Actor/Singer from the West Midlands (UK).Being able to work easily alongside others with a friendly approach, I am well-suited to productions of both musical theatre and more reserved dramatic pieces. With some experience of performing in front of cameras, I am also keen to engage in acting work surrounding film or television (both student and professional).
In September 2018 I graduated from university with a first class honours in Musical Theatre and Drama (joint honours), and in doing so, achieved the highest degree classification in my year for Musical Theatre. Aspects of my optimistic and well-mannered personality qualify me well to play reserved characters with smart appearances, however my range is by no means restricted, particularly due to my ability to control a performance environment when portraying cold, dominant, and even villainous characters.
Additional skills:
I have experience in creating synthesised instrumentals/backing tracks using notation software (MuseScore). I am also able to read sheet music.
Additional information:
Currently, I am researching for a Ph.D concerning the influence of early film aesthetics upon today’s musical theatre industry. With this academic mindset, I am prone towards a thoughtful and objective approach to character preparation, meaning that I can be expected to be dedicated to my portrayals and immersed within the work. Given the subject matter of my research, I may also prove valuable where expertise regarding silent cinema is needed.
