About me
I have always had a love of acting and directing. I completed my Theatre and Professional Practice course at University in 2016 and since then I have done a range of things, mainly theatre and education work, which has seen me do more of the directing side. I love working with many different age groups and have spent several years as a drama facilitator and director.I am an honest, reliable and trustworthy person and I have a very practical approach to work. I find it easy to communicate with a variety of different people and I work well in a team. I love to collaborate to create high quality and thought provoking work.
I would now love to build on my acting and directing skills and I have interests in a range of genres including drama, comedy, educational, outdoor and many more.
Acting experience:
I have acted in a number of stage shows whilst at university for my degree and also in other students shows.
I was a Spooky Actor for West Midlands Safari Park.
Additional skills:
Full Driving license
Acting experience in devising, mask work, outdoor theatre, family theatre, musicals, comedy, new writing and Shakespeare.
Director
Script Writing
Facilitator
Experience working with children
Experience working with young people with special educational needs
Experience working with people with dementia
Additional information:
Whilst at university, I performed in many productions which incorporated a variety of styles including Shakespeare, Mask, Site-specific, Outdoor and Musicals. As well as this, I took part in a student radio play and short film. I also co-wrote and directed my final major project which was performed at the Ellen Terry Theatre.
I was also the Artistic Director of Coventry University's Musical Theatre Society, where I co-wrote and directed a musical showcase and directed two full scale musical productions.
Since leaving university, I spent some time working in education settings with mainstream and SEND students. I love working with young people and I have taught drama for a drama academy and directed shows for them.
Following this, I worked full time for a theatre and facilitated drama workshops for youth theatre, as well as for people over the age of 50 and people with memory impairments and/or dementia. As well as delivering drama projects in schools. I was also the assistant director on a number of shows which were performed at different theatres across Coventry. I have recently written and directed my own show which was to be performed at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, but it is currently postponed due to lockdown.
As well as this, I spent a couple of months working at West Midlands Safari Park as a Spooky Actor for the Halloween period. This was a walk-about role, which entailed interacting with young people and their families whilst also delivering the backstory of the characters. I would really love now to do more acting.
