About me

Hi there! My name is Dean, I am 33 years old. I am based in the UK and originally from East Yorkshire but have lived in Manchester since graduating from University in 2008.

Having always had a passion for acting, I studied and graduated with a BA Hons in Acting and immediately moved to Manchester after securing an acting agent. For the next 2 years, I auditioned for many mainstream TV shows in the UK, whilst cutting my teeth acting and earning my living whilst touring with numerous Theatre in Education theatre companies across England. The subject matters ranged from anything from revision techniques for students to challenging storylines around young people experiencing drink/drug driving and sex education. This came to an end as work began to dry up and required financial stability and decided to earn regular, secure income and put my dreams on hold. During this time, I have started a family with my wife and also been able to carry on with other favourite past times which are playing football and computer gaming! Day to day, I am an account manager for an online ticketing platform which mainly serves the nightlife industry but have always had that ‘itch’ of acting laying dormant.


My favourite football team is Manchester United and although they have had a recent downturn in fortune, I fully believe that we will be back challenging for the Premier League title sooner rather than later! Having a young daughter who is 2 in September, I try and play as often as I can (prior to COVID-19!) and play once a week (formerly twice a week) and like to try and keep on top of my physical fitness...if the beer will allow. Interestingly, whilst in lockdown, I have taken to attempting to brew my own home brew beer with mixed results but I am looking to try and hone this and carry this on through past the pandemic.

When it comes to computer games, I have always played games from a young age. I own a PS4 system and play regularly online in the evening with my friends playing mainly Call of Duty but also the current FIFA franchise, Dirt 2 and a mix of other games. Hooking up with friends cannot come soon enough as we try to arrange a visit to the largest indoor gaming arcade in Europe which is based in Bury, north Manchester.

With voice over work, I have done a few favours for friends who require voice talent for their Podcasts (https://www.suckitandspin.com/online/podcasts/) to impersonations of famous characters for media companies, from Peter Griffin from Family Guy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om2XroDl8iE). I have always flirted with creating a YouTube channel to try and showcase this talent but have never really followed it up with any real conviction and I am hoping to try and buck this trend by investing in quality home audio recording equipment. During the current global pandemic, I have reached out to my former agent and am looking to try my hand at voice acting, create a voice reel and see what opportunities can present itself to try and keep the dream alive.
