About me
After forty years as a journalist and later an academic (English Literature), I returned to the field to follow long-held ambitions. At 19 I played Kathy in Michael Weller's 'Cancer' at The Sherman Theatre in Cardiff (Cardiff University Drama Group) and although I was unable to train as an actor then, much of my working life has been performance-related. I have assumed a range of personas to relate more easily to people I've interviewed as a journalist and performed with energy as an academic, both in the classroom and at conferences. Since stepping down from academia, I worked for several years as a National Trust Guide at Ham House in Richmond and also led after-dark Ghost Tours for adults and storytelling sessions for children. Over the past 5 years I've immersed myself in training as an actor and although I'm relatively new to the business, I have much to offer; I can bring life experience, authenticity and immense enthusiasm to a role and work with dedication and humour, where appropriate. Now I'm looking to build on the skills gained from my theatre and film work.License & Passport
