About me

I started dancing at the age of 13 and from my very first lesson I knew this was the industry I wanted to make a career for myself in. I love to move so have trained in all sort of styles of dance however chose to vocationally train in Ballet and Contemporary dance. Throughout all my training and since graduating I have never lost the desire to learn, I thrive off pushing myself physically and creatively and constantly want to expand my movement possibilities.

I am a technical, versatile and attentive dancer with a strong sense of physicality, attention to detail and stage presence. I love movement and the variety of things we can achieve with our bodies. One of my main interests is to connect emotion to my movement; for them to feed into each other creating a sense of deep honesty and relation within a dance phrase. There is such power in what we can achieve within our moving bodies and how this can resonate with a variety of different audiences is truly exciting.

I have freelanced since graduating and worked with a number of different choreographers including Mark Bruce, Shobana Jeyasign and Christopher Thomas (as examples) as well as developing my own choreographic work which I have taken to national and international platforms. I have experience working with musicians in live gigs, music videos and R&D processes.

I want to be involved in work that excites me and the people watching it, I want to keep playing within my practise to find new nuances in my movement, I want to take risks and push myself to exceed what I thought possible and I want to keep expanding my experiences and apply my knowledge and skill set to a wide range of jobs available to me.
Additional skills:
I am very quick at learning material and understanding new styles presented to me.
I take direction well and my keen sense of attention to detail means I can pass information on clearly - I have experience in rehearsal directing.
I have used spoken word in performance so confident in voice work if it is required of me.
