About me
The art of performing is something that I find inspiring. The thrill of performing on stage to an audience creates a positive emotion within me. Seeing a piece of theatre turn from page to stage is magical and experiencing characters come to life on stage is unforgettable.I am a motivated 27 year old, who has graduated with a BA (Hons) in Acting from Bath Spa University. The course at Bath Spa University was incredibly beneficial to my progression as an actor. I developed and enhanced a number of different skills. Voice work, presentation skills, performance theory, and script analysis, were areas of importance. I was fortunate enough to work within film, television, site specific theatre, immersive theatre, rehearsed play readings, physical comedy, and many others. Furthermore, I researched and practised important acting methods, such as the Stanislavski method and Meisner technique. I also looked at Laben movement analysis, which helped me develop my skills in Commedia dell'arte.
Aswell as theatre, I have a strong passion for film/television. Having been involved in working in a number of short films and a t.v sitcom, film/television is a genre I would like to explore more alongside theatre. I have experienced being on set of Steven Spielberg's film adaptation of 'War Horse'. Being a supporting artist for the BBC & Mainstreet Productions in their drama 'Gold Digger'. Also doing a number of short films through Bath Spa University and student films.
In the past, I have also enjoyed acting through my involvement with MED Theatre - a community theatre organisation based on Dartmoor. This provided me with the opportunity to take part in community plays, film work, and workshops. Being chosen as a youth representative at the time helped me improve my communication skills, by hosting group discussions with young people. These sessions were used to develop ideas from the group to create our own script for a devised performance. Taking in people’s views and opinions demonstrated that I can work successfully within a group. I was awarded a Bronze Arts Award, from the education officer at MED Theatre.
I am reliable, hard working, and want to succeed in an increasingly competitive profession.
