About me
BiographyJORDAN ASIL
Jordan Asil (born July 7 1993) is an British/Persian Actor/Model who became known among audiences for his role as Oliver in Andrew Macintoshe's adaption of Charles Dicken's Oliver Twist at the age of 6. The production of Oliver toured all around the United Kingdom for the duration of 7 weeks, hitting theatres in Manchester, Liverpool, London and Cardiff. From the succession of Oliver, Jordan went to appear in shows such as Lord Of The Flies (2006), George's Marvellous Medicine (2008), Blood Brothers (2009). In 2008, he landed Oliver Twist once again but this time portraying the role The Artful Dodger which he described as a special role to have and a play which meant alot to him having played Oliver at age of 6 to kick-start his career. Asil carried on to appear as lead roles in successful commercial shows such as West Side Story, Footloose & Borstal Boy. Later that year he managed to get his T.V breakthrough by appearing in BBC One's school based drama Waterloo Road, where he appeared as Damien Charles. After Waterloo Road, Jordan started getting auditions for soaps and dramas such as Hollyoaks, Seeing Red, The Street, Burn It and Revolution, however these projects where unsuccessful due to character disagreements and other commitments for other castings. During 2009, Jordan secured roles in productions such as Christmas Is Miles Away, Steal Or No Steal and the sequel to Jack & the Giant Peach, which was Jack The Giant Slayer and went on to open it's doors for the first time at The Plaza in Stockport, Manchester. However it wasn't until late 2010 when Asil landed his first lead role in the commercially successful film ''The Limelight'' where he played character Villain Lenny, bad boy lead singer of the Band Sgt.Wolfbanger. The film witnessed Jordan appear alongside actors such as Christopher Ellison (The Professionals), Richard Brimblecombe ( Disney's A Christmas Carol). Liam Tobin (Seeing Red) and Sharon Duce (Brookside). The film had it's premiere in Manchester Printworks, Odeon Cinemas. After succession via The Limelight, Jordan managed to secure an audition for new upcoming film to be released in 2015, such as 'Desert Dancer' where he auditioned for the role of Ardavan, the films ensembled a cast including Freida Pinto, Reece Ritchie, Davood Ghademi and Akin Gazi. Jordan stated that by auditioning for Desert Dancer he felt he was unlocking a new door in his life which would lead to a better future and the casting was his most prestigious audition and therefore he had to pinch himself to believe he was actually auditioning for the film. However the character Ardavan was transformed and changed by the production company behind the film due to the change to the story line which ruled Asil out of portraying the character. Jordan explained that he 'Never wanted something so bad in his life and the feeling of failing in his eyes was so horrible and excruciating.' After auditioning for various roles and different projects, in mid removed , Jordan landed the audition for successful T.V Teen Drama Skins and was put forward to audition for the role of new boy Alex. After going through rounds and getting to the recall audition Jordan was notified that role of Alex had been changed by the writers behind the show for the character to gel more into the story line and for that reason he was ruled out of the running due the fact the he didn't match the characteristics for the role anymore. Asil stated that 'He felt whenever he ever came close to securing a role it was always took away from him at the last hurdle.' The same daunting experience as he went though with Desert Dancer reoccurred again with Skins, and Jordan's answer to this was that 'Maybe it's just not meant to be for me at this moment in time and everything happens for a reason.'
PERSONAL LIFE
Asil has Persian ancestry and currently resides in the UK & family home situated in Manchester, UK. The family were located in Pendlebury, Swinton in Greater Manchester after moving to Bramhall, Cheshire. Jordan attended St. Augustine's C Of E Primary School and he described his school life as a roller coaster, as he was bullied early on then was made captain of his school's football team and a certain amount of fame as he explains simply 'Came With It'. After Primary school, Jordan attended the The Swinton High School, where he was soon recognized as the actor/clown of the school. He was described by his teachers as the boy who constantly had 'Ants in his pants' but 'Was a joy to have around'. Jordan studied until the end of year 9 and then moved with his family to Bramhall, Cheshire in Manchester. He studied the last two years of his high school era at Bramhall High School and came out with 8 GSCE's. Asil's next educational challenge was to start his A levels and he enroled at Stockport College where he studied Performing Arts. He described his time at the college as the best 2 years of his life as he met some fantastic and inspirational people in his time including his Mentor Howard Bamforth, who he is still in touch with and explains they share a special relationship and also states that 'Howard is the grandfather he never had' and to make things even better Jordan managed to came out with 3 A's.

During Primary School he got his shot at his first acting role when got cast at the age of 6 for the role of Oliver in Musical Spectacular Oliver Twist which he managed to secure an agent at an early age with his parents permission. After signing with the agency, Jordan went on to appear in Theatre, T.V, Film, Radio and Commercial projects and also was signed by a local modelling agency situated in Manchester and he went on to represented brands such as GAP, Adams, Matalan and M&S Kids.
removed CAREER BREAKDOWN
Asil appeared in Theatre tours such High School Musical, Blood Brothers, Borstal Boy and Jack The Giant Killer. Along side acting roles and projects, Jordan attended acting classes at David Johnson Associates in Manchester where he improved his basic skills as a performer for both theatre and screen. He described his acting tutor David a cross between' Father Christmas & Orson Wells' and that David is truly one of most inspirational people in his life after his mother who is the one person that he will always be in debt to for everything she has done. Whilst attending David's classes, Asil carried on to appear in other projects and took a serious turn in his modelling career by shooting for brands such H&M, Topman & Sierre Torino Suits
2010-PRESENT
In late August 2010 Jordan shot feature film 'The Limelight' which he describes as his biggest ever role and the project which matured him as a person, the project which made him 'Change from a boy and develop into a man'. Jordan explained that he was so grateful and humble to get the chance in his first major lead role to appear alongside some of the best British actors in the business. After The Limelight, in 2011 he auditioned for roles such as Musi for feature film 'The Desert Dancer', and Alex for E4 Drama 'Skins' however both were unsuccessful due to character reinforcements. Jordan explained that although he has been bruised by the outcome of the auditions, it also made him stronger and taught him how tough the industry really is. In 2012, he also auditioned for shows such as Hollyoaks and BBC Three's Switched. In March, Jordan was put up for an audition once again for teen based drama Waterloo Road, rumors suggested the return of Damien however the role changed to a character named Barry, after a number auditions, he was unsuccessful due to the fact that the company wanted a new face for the show and not someone who was an old character. Jordan is currently training and undergoing an excessive workout routine and diet regime for an audition in late September 2014 for an unnamed futuristic vampire film. He has to put on 12-15 pounds of muscle mass in order to be in with the chance of securing the role. During his last couple of months of Drama School Jordan did his last two performances which were Recall and In Search Of Esc which also finished on the last day of 2014. Currently Jordan has just finished Short Film directed by Sergei Azmaylov who is a household name in his native Russia winning numerous awards for his directing in Russian cinema. The project is titled Lust, Love, Danger with Jordan playing the character of Sean. The Short Film is to have a teaser trailer set for June 26th 2015 with the 35 minutes film due to be aired on Channel TNT (Russia) later on in the year with a set date of October 5 2015.
