Recently played Queen Elizabeth I in BBC 2 drama/documentary ELIZABETH I's SECRET AGENTS - two episodes. This has just won the Royal Television Society 'History' Award and a BAFTA nomination
(Specialist Factual category).
Julie appeared in 2 episodes of the latest 'DOC MARTIN' series (as Mrs. Harris) and she played Mary in featurette 'ORACLE' - mother of a mentally retarded son who is driven to the end of her endurance (leading role).
She played Bea in short film 'THE ROARING', which was screened at Aesthetica, Underwire, Triforce and the BFI Future Film Festival and received an 'Award of Merit' at Canada Shorts. The film was shot in Cornwall and Julie plays a woman whose husband has early dementia and an obsession with finding a mythical sea monster.
She also recenlty played glamorous sorceress Dragana in the film series 'MYTHopolis' (4 episodes) for He2hecuba Productions (Los Angeles).
Julie played the central character in film 'ROSEMARY JANE', winner of 'Best of British' Award 2013 at Encounters and 'Best Short Film' Award at Concorto (Italy), with two 'Special Mentions' at Skepto.
Rosemary is a grieving widow who ventures onto a rough London housing estate in search of marijuana.
Most recently, she played Una, a bohemian artist battling agoraphobia in short film BUTTERFLIES - to be screened at the BFI in June 2018.
