About me

Whilst I am predominantly a Voiceover Artist these days, I have varied experience of theatre, T.V, film and TIE. I enjoy working both on set and stage. I'm a dedicated mature character actor, who is a strong and supportive worker, full of enthusiasm. A happy-go-lucky type, I have a great sense of humour and a real team spirit - definitely not a 'drama queen' and always happy to help with the washing up!
I have experience of roleplay for corporate, medical and financial services, 10 years experience of working with young people, and also events management experience too.

Currently I'm very busy with my Voice Over Career, and I have completed over 400 projects to date, including commercials, e-learning projects, corporate training and audiobooks for children. My website is www.karenallenvoiceover.co.uk

Additional skills:
Extensive Voiceover experience, own studio and able to record, edit and deliver Industry standard audio files.
I have experience as a costumed tour guide for Harewood House in Leeds, and was featured on BBC's Look North programme. For two summers at East Riddlesden Hall in Keighley, I was 'Living Histories Activities Leader' again in costume and improvising my tours as I went along.
Additional information:
I graduated from Bretton Hall uni in 1999 with a degree in Theatre Acting and amongst other things I spent 7 years as a role actor and consultant assessor for West Yorks Police Recruitment programme, travelling all over the country and working for various forces from Thames Valley and Somerset and Avon to Cumbria. During that time I also did DVDs for the Protected Person's training programme for the police and short films for independent film makers. I've also done adverts for Direct Line and Aubrey Isaacson Solicitors, and role play for Financial services.
My most recent paid work was a TIE Tour on the issues surrounding 'Prevent' , and as various ensemble roles in Hamlet with Studio 18. Other work includes a corporate training film for Sports Direct, and 2 Manchester Fringe Theatre productions, as Stella in 'Attack of the A&E Zombies' and 'Anne' in 'Iris' and my favourite 'show' in the past few years was in the the 'Board Treaders' comedy production of 'Last tango in Little Grimley'.
