About me
I've always enjoyed performing, singing and drama - although I've done more singing performance and recording than acting. Since completing my Access to HE (Drama) last year, I found that I love acting and being on stage. I love exploring the characters, working in an ensemble, talking about intentions and bringing my skills in performing, improvisation and singing out in a show. As a teacher, for many years, I often stand in front of my students and perform. I've worked over the last 10 years on a number of different projects, including: Southgate Opera as a member of the chorus and Southgate Youth Opera as assistant director. I really enjoy the whole process of bringing a show or character to life and love doing something I think I'm quite good at.Acting experience:
Played Miss Donaldson in "Woof and Warp", by Edith Lyttleton for the final show of my Access to HE (Drama) course in 2018. Then Mother Superior in "Table" by Tanya Ronder, with the City Lit Rep Theatre Company in 2019. Most recently I played "Ali", the mother in "I made this for you", written by Cristien Solimeno. This production was directed by Gary Grant, for City Lit's Rep Theatre Company and ran on Zoom at the beginning of December 2020, to rave reviews. I've also performed in a variety of opera's produced by Southgate Opera in London and am an experienced singer and performer.
Additional skills:
I can cook, drive, use BSL (Grade 1), speak French and Spanish a little and am creative and have lots of ideas. I really enjoy and am skilled at improvising and would like to develop this in the future.
Additional information:
I have Grade 8 singing, can play the piano a little and know my way round a set of percussion instruments. I have run music workshops for adults and children in the past, and facilitated short creative projects. I've run circus workshops, can juggle and used to be able to tight rope walk! I've planned and organised events, concerts, performances in the past and enjoy the production side as well as acting.
