About me
Well - I am creeping up to 40 years in the business, and still love it very much. Work has taken me to Greece, Hong Kong, China, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, Ireland, Norway, Nairobi, Kenya, Mombasa, USA, Spain. I have worked in major theatres like the Royal National Theatre where I worked for 300 performances playing the lead role of Nawadaha, the Story Teller in 'Hiawatha,' Father/ Moon in 'Blood Wedding', Chorus in 'Antigone'., TV work includes Rory in the six part series 'Plotlands 'BBC 1, 'Coronation Street' ITV, 'The Bill',ITV Seamus McCracken in the 26 part series ' Foreign Exchange'. RTE, Giant Reed in 'Father Ted',Channel 4 'Heartbeat', ITV, 'The Upper Hand' ITV , Recent films include 'The Bricklayer' (trailer on Google 'bricklayermovie.com'. 'One Hit Wonder' Dorothy Kay. Own film 'Ardeevan' award winning script.I have written and performed in three stage plays 'Barrack Street' 'Brass Balls' -set in a Pawnbrokers,('A rich and absorbing evening' BBC ) 'Mammy's Boy' ('Mammy of all plays' Irish Examiner) two short plays 'Home is the Hero' written and performed by myself, and 'Wild About Oscar' performed by myself. Four radio plays were broadcast, 'A kind of Wilderness', 'A drop of Beethoven' 'On the Reef,' 'Johnny's Boys' and a short film script I wrote 'Ardeevan' won a cash award and trophy for Best Short Script at the Cork Film Festival. The film was made, directed by Jonathan Richards.
Additional skills:
Good yachtsman and crew, strong swimmer, cycled around Europe when younger and good horse rider. Decent drummer. I write, and have had stage plays ('Brass Balls' 'a rich and absorbing evening' BBC) put on in prestigous theatres...Mercury Theatre, Colchester, Everyman Palace Theatre, Cork, 'Mammy's Boy' 'Mammy of all plays!' Irish Examiner.) Four Radio plays which were broadcast, and an award winning short film script. (£7000 cash and trophy at Cork Film Festival 2003.) The film was broadcst three times on RTE and shown at Cork Film Festival and London Irish Film Festival. Thanks for reading all this!...Best regards, Peter Dineen.
Additional information:
I did lots of singing in different shows over the years, and ended up with a very useful Bass/Baritone singing voice. A decent mover with a good sense of rhythm,(I play the drums) but no Fred Astaire!
