About me

Hi, I'm Philippa Howard. I'm an actor firstly and foremost. It's my
passion that's ever exciting, involving so many genres. In its most
basic form we get to tell stories and tell me a person who doesn't
love a story. Whether it's TV, film, radio, books, gossip, politics,
history. Whatever your passion stories come into play, its
communication! I currently live in Bristol but also have a base in
West London. I'm a graduate of Bristol old Vic Theatre School. Earlier
I trained in Musical Theatre at Arts Ed first at Tring Park and then
the college in Chiswick.
I love travel also, big sun worshipper. My favourite re-occuring
compliment professionally is that I'm a generous performer and real
company member. There is truly no such thing as a soloist in this
business and I believe any stars shine because they are allowed to by
the support of so many others. Not that I'm not working toward
stardom. Got to reach for them, eh! Though fame has never been a
motivator for me, to be respected within the industry and constantly
working would be more than enough success for me.
I've been lucky enough too worked in TV, Film, theatre, radio,
children's theatre and am embarking now into voice over. I was the
2008 winner of the Peter Akerman comedy award and 2011/12 Actors'
Guild Bursary as well as a finalist for the Carleton Hobbs Radio
award.
Recently I've been involved with 'Flying Blind' feature starring Helen McCrory, Ken Cranham, Tristan Gemhill and Lorcan Craditch. I played MI5 agent Nina Simmons. The film is nominated for best new film at Edinburgh International festival.
I'm fiercely ambitious and always looking forward to what tomorrow brings.
