About me
I am a fun loving person with loads of energy. I love bright and vibrant people. In my day job I work as a teacher but I am looking to do some different things now. I had taught privately for years and I then completed a PGCE. I currently work as a casual relief teacher which allows for some diversity. I've worked as a clown before and in interactive Pantomime. My main skill is as a musician; guitar and voice, but I now wish to become more performance based and to get involved with theatre and comedy. I also have dance skills and I am trained in contemporary, jazz and classical ballet. My dance skills have proved very useful in the performances that I've done.Self-Recording

Highlights
-
I have always loved dancing. I began Highland (Scottish) dancing when I was 5 and I continued until I was 9 doing well in competitions. When I was 19 I completed a year of rock 'n roll dancing in the traditional style. At 21 I took up classical, jazz and contemporary ballet. I completed my classical grades to grade 4 in the Cechetti style in Australia. I now do at least two classes per week ( and have done for the last 20 years) at Pineapple, Danceworks, Central Ballet or The Place dance schools.

I have had fitness modelling experience during the Gospelrobix fitness video. This involved video footage as we were required to memorise the exercise routines and also stills for promotional purposes. I have also had experience as a life model for artists. On some sessions I was a 'dance' life model in that I created a series of movements and then held a position long enough for the artists to capture that in their painting.

In 2009 I completed a three-month course part time with The American Musical Theatre Academy of London under the instruction of Kenneth Avery-Clark. This culminated in shows at the Theatro Technis theatre in Camden. I was involved with Boo Productions for the Christmas of 2007 where I played an elf and also Nana in Peter Pan.
I mostly work as a teacher but I am now aiming to get into acting full time. As a supply teacher, working across London in a variety of schools, every day is a new acting experience as I have to get up in front of 30 of the toughest audience about and deliver a lesson engaging enough to hold their attention. This has increased my confidence and given me a greater awareness of voice and body language. During a three-year stint at a primary school I was involved in the Christmas panto, most often ending up as the villain, and I thoroughly enjoyed scaring them senseless. I was also involved with and performed on stage with the children during the Ring Around the World project linked to the Olympic games and run by the English Pocket Opera Company.
I have had extensive training in dance. I began in 1987 completing one years training at The Dance Factory in Melbourne. I came to London in 1991 and since then I have continued to improve my dance skill by going to adult classes at The Place, Danceworks, Central and Pineapple with an average of two classes per week for 22 years. In the summer of 2013 I was involved with a fitness video for Gospel X productions and I have an excellent level of fitness.
Whatever I do, I do it well. I research and put thought into what I do. I also have music performance experience playing with bands such as Fairies, Wilby and also fronting my own band for a period of time. I play guitar, piano and sing. -
From 2003 to 2006 I completed a BA in Music Technology at Thames Valley University. We learnt how to use Logic, Protools and Final Cut Pro. As well as recording songs we also created music for film, learnt about ADR and filmed and edited a music video. I recorded other bands as well as composing and recording my own music.
I am a proficient singer in the following genres: folk, pop and musical theatre. I have also had some classical voice training and I am confident singing operetta.
I played guitar to an intermediate level in the style of folk, blues, pop and rock, playing chords and also finger picking style. I also play piano to the level of basic accompaniment, reading chord charts etc. I can play clarinet, recorder and harmonica. I am not highly experienced on the drums but I can convincingly hold a basic beat and I am able to play hand percussion such as bongos, congas, djembe and other hand percussion. I have a strong sense of rhythm.
